The target group for the User Engagement Programme is people with diabetes or who are at risk of developing diabetes, together with their families.
The purpose of the programme is to help realise the vision of providing world-class diabetes treatment. The programme will be rolled out in all units and at all levels at Steno Diabetes Center Copenhagen (SDCC).
The target group and the future
Around 90,000 people in the Capital Region of Denmark suffer from diabetes. For most diabetics it is important to be able to combine an altered attitude to diet, exercise and medication with living as normal a life as possible. This can be a daunting task for some, and it also affects the individual’s family and friends, who will need to be involved in the process.
The role of SDCC is to assist this process and to provide the best possible individual treatment and support. This also applies to the research, training and health promotion for which SDCC is responsible.
Targets and strategy
The programme will test and implement new ways of promoting successful user engagement across the organisation.
Four general strategic initiatives will be established:
- Continuous management focus
- Visible communication
- Skills development and employee co-ownership
- Development and implementation of specific user engagement methods.
The programme will be developed and run as a close collaboration between users and employees at SDCC. The programme will run for three years, from 2017-2020.
