New Helmsley Charitable Trust Effort is Funding Alpha Cell Research!

The Clinical Metabolic Physiology has become part of The Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust’s new research initiative focused on the restoration of alpha cell function in order to prevent hypoglycaemia in individuals with type 1 diabetes.

A team of scientists from Clinical Metabolic Physiology at Steno Diabetes Center (previously Center for Diabetes Research at Gentofte Hospital) including Drs. Bjørn Hoe, Sebastian M. Heimburger, Thomas F. Dejgaard, Mikkel Christensen and Filip Krag Knop have kick-started two clinical projects with this aim, which are supported by a generous Helmsley grant.

The Clinical Metabolic Physiology are very thankful for the support from Helmsley and look forward to including patients in our two studies!
