​The World Economic Forum's Global Coalition for Value in Healthcare has appointed Steno Diabetes Center Copenhagen to be among the best in the world in developing a value-based healthcare system for the benefit of people with diabetes and other non-communicable disease.

A group of researchers from the research group researching in diabetic complications participates in the Kidney Week, held in San Diego from 23 to 28 October 2018.

​People with prediabetes have a high risk of developing cardiovascular disease and of premature death. The size of this risk depends on how prediabetes is defined. This has been demonstrated in research carried out by Steno Diabetes Center Copenhagen.

​A long-term Danish follow-up study published in Diabetologia (the journal of the European Association for the Study of Diabetes) now shows that intensified and multifaceted treatment of patients with type 2 diabetes and a common complication microalbuminuria extends median lifetime by 8 years.

​Steno Education have just launched their new online courses at the big ADA congress in New Orleans which brings together more than 18.000 diabetes specialists every year.

​The plans for a new major diabetes center for the entire Capital Region of Denmark have been approved. As a result, Steno Diabetes Center is transferred to the Capital Region in 2017 to become part of Steno Diabetes Center Copenhagen.

​Professor and research manager at Steno Diabetes Center, Peter Rossing, is awarded the acknowledged Camillo Golgi Prize.
