​Research area

​Health promotion and prevention of overweight and obesity in children exposed to gestational diabetes, focusing on factors before, during, and after pregnancy.

Current research

Register study: distinct BMI trajectories in children exposed to gestational diabetes in utero
Objective: Identification of BMI trajectories from 0-10 years in children exposed to gestational diabetes, as well as identification of risk factors associated with specific to growth patterns.

Face-it: Evaluation of a complex health promotion intervention for women with previous gestational diabetes and their families. 
Objective: To improve quality of life and reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes among women with previous gestational diabetes and their families.

In my PhD study, I am investigating: 
  • Breastfeeding in women with gestational diabetes during the first year postpartum, as well as causes and risk factors for early cessation of breastfeeding.
  • Secondary effect evaluation of the Face-it intervention on child growth during the first year postpartum.
