1. Research in prevention and treatment of pre-diabetes and obesity with emphasis on nutrition, the gastrointestinal tract, metabolism and physiology.

2. Clinical trials: to investigate the effects of a lifestyle intervention of time-restricted eating in individuals at high risk of developing type-2 diabetes

Current research

 1. Evaluation of methods for measuring gastrointestinal transit and food reward in healthy individuals – the PRESET study
Aim: studying the effect of two different meals on gastrointestinal transit time using the wireless motility capsule (WMC) technique also known as the SmartPill™.

2. Effect of time-restricted eating on behaviour and metabolism in overweight individuals at high risk of type 2 diabetes – the RESET study
Aim: studying the effect of time-restricted eating on gastrointestinal motility, gut hormones and related outcomes in overweight individuals at high risk of type 2 diabetes
