Our multidisciplinary team works closely with you and your child to create an individualized treatment plan based on your child's health, daily life, wellbeing and specific needs. Treatment is continuously reviewed and adjusted as your child grows and circumstances change.
We believe that diabetes care is not a one-size-fits-all approach. Some families need frequent contact and support, while others require only occasional appointments. The frequency of visits and follow-up is therefore based on your child's needs, ensuring that support is available when it is needed most.
We offer guidance on diabetes treatment, technology, everyday life with diabetes, school and social activities, and emotional wellbeing. We also provide access to educational resources and courses for children, young people, parents and other caregivers.
Healthcare at Steno Diabetes Center Copenhagen is part of the Danish public healthcare system. Treatment is free of charge, as it is at all public hospitals in Denmark. It is not possible to pay for access to treatment or to purchase treatment privately at Steno.
Children and young people receiving care at Steno Diabetes Center Copenhagen must be residents of the Capital Region of Denmark (Region Hovedstaden) and referred through the public healthcare system.
Whether your child is newly diagnosed or has been living with diabetes for years, we are here to support your family with high-quality, evidence-based care and education.
