Evidence and Quality Improvement

The Department of Evidence and Quality Improvement develops and implements strategic, evidence-based initiatives that strengthen diabetes prevention and care across sectors. Through partnerships, innovation, and continuous quality improvement, we help shape a more effective and equitable healthcare system.

The Department of Evidence and Quality Improvement plays a central role in supporting the development and implementation of initiatives that improve diabetes care, prevention, and long-term outcomes.

Each year, the department launches new strategic initiatives designed to raise the quality of clinical care and support the systematic implementation of best practices. These initiatives are grounded in evidence and tailored to the needs of people living with diabetes, their families, and healthcare professionals.

Our work is guided by strong cross-sector partnerships—spanning hospitals, municipalities, general practice, and civil society—and by a shared goal of creating sustainable, equitable solutions that can be integrated into routine care.

The department consists of two interdisciplinary teams:

  • Team for Data and Digital Transformation
This team supports clinical care, quality improvement, and research by providing data, analytics, and technical expertise. Their work includes managing and analyzing a wide range of data sources—from clinical and research data to national registers—to ensure that decisions and developments are evidence-based and data-driven.

  • Development and Research Secretariat
This team provides professional project management, methodological support, and coordination of innovation and development projects across the center. In addition, the team supports research activities, including funding applications and the practical execution of projects, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.

Together, the two teams help ensure that SDCC remains at the forefront of evidence-based innovation, quality assurance, and the transformation of diabetes care through practical, scalable, and measurable solutions.
