The Department of Diabetes Care treats individuals with type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes, and rarer forms of diabetes. Therefore, our treatment ranges from young individuals with newly diagnosed type 1 diabetes, pregnant women with diabetes, rare hereditary forms of diabetes, to older individuals with complex type 2 diabetes and multiple health conditions.

We aim to make a real difference in the lives of people with diabetes and are dedicated to offering the same life expectancy and quality of life as those without diabetes.

Strategic Focus

We work based on national and international standards for excellent and well-documented diabetes treatment through specialized teams and clinics that offer personalized treatment for each individual.

We want to create the best possible treatment by using an interdisciplinary treatment team consisting of specialists (diabetes and other specialties), nurses, dietitians, and podiatrists, working closely with each person with diabetes to assess diabetes control and identify and treat diabetes complications optimally. Therefore, we offer the option to plan all visits to Steno so that the most relevant tests and treatments can be conducted on the same day.

To help individuals live the best possible life with diabetes in their daily lives, we offer:
