The merger of Steno Centers in Eastern Denmark being prepared
The two Steno Centers in the Eastern Denmark Region are planned to merge in 2028. Therefore, one of Andreas Rudkjøbing’s tasks will be to prepare the merger of the two Steno Centers.
“When I take up the position as director, it will be for two centers, but with a plan for them to become one in 2028. It is still too early to say what a unified Steno Center in the Eastern Denmark Region will look like. That is something I, together with colleagues from both centers, the region, and the Novo Nordisk Foundation, will be responsible for putting in place,” says Andreas Rudkjøbing.
The Steno Centers were established through a grant from the Novo Nordisk Foundation. The current grants expire over the coming years, and therefore the Steno Centers must apply for a new grant, which is expected to take effect from 2028.
Andreas Rudkjøbing will assume the position as director of the two centers on September 1, 2026. Andreas ahve been director of Steno Diabetes Center Zealand since december 2023.Before that, he came from a position as senior physician in the Danish Health Authority’s Unit for Health Planning and previously served as chairman of the Danish Medical Association
