Research area

Technologies in the treatment of type 1 diabetes

Optimizing treatment by using insulin pumps, continuous glucose monitors and bolus calculators in type 1 diabetes.

Development of new algorithms/technologies

Development and test of a dual-hormone closed-loop and open-loop systems for people with type 1 diabetes.

Development of guidelines for everyday use of technology in diabetes treatment

How should persons with diabetes bolus insulin and handle glucose values when eating different types of food, using new faster insulins and exercising in new ways.

Technologies in the treatment of type 1 diabetes in children and adolescents

How technology can be used to improve glucose control, disease burden and quality of life in children and adolescents with type 1 diabetes?

Current research

Closed-loop dual-hormone studies

Aim: To develop and test our own algorithms for insulin only or dual-hormone closed loop systems. Collaborators: DTU Compute.

Open-loop dual-hormone studies

Aim: To get data on glucose excursions in different situations to be used in decision support for glucagon dosage in an open-loop dual-hormone system.
Collaborators: DTU Compute og Zealand Pharma.
