Skin reactions towards insulin pumps and glucose sensors
Research in how to prevent and treat skin reactions towards insulin pumps and glucose sensors, especially in children and adolescents. Hereby also knowledge on skin barrier, allergies, patches as treatment of eczema and skin care as preventive treatment. 

Current research

Skin Barrier Study
Aim: To investigate the skin barrier in children, adolescents and adults with type 1 diabetes compared to age- and sex matched controls. Collaborators: Pediatric Department Herlev Hospital and Dermatological Department at Gentofte and Bispebjerg Hospital. 

The prospective skin study
Aim: To investigate when skin reactions develop in the first year after initiation of new diabetes devices in children and adolescent as well as investigating whether a skin care program with daily use of lipid lotion can prevent skin reactions in the intervention group. Collaborators: Pediatric Department at Herlev and Hillerød Hospital and Dermatological Department at Gentofte and Bispebjerg Hospital
