PhD project: Factors influencing diabetic retinopathy screening attendance among people with type 2 diabetes
Aim:
- Identify characteristics of people with type 2 diabetes, who do not participate in diabetic retinopathy screening compared to people who do
- To investigate the impact of certain characteristics and socioeconomic factors on the likelihood of attending screening for diabetic retinopathy
- Identify barriers and facilitators of attending diabetic retinopathy screening from the perspectives of people with type 2 diabetes and health care professionals
- Explore potential initiatives to increase participation in diabetic retinopathy screening
