Helenas primary research a​reas are hormonal circadian rhythms and brain insulin sensitivity in relation to type 2 diabetes, with a particular focus on the relationship with cognition.

Current projects

  • ​Research project: Determining Circadian Metabolic and Behavioural Rhythms in Patients with and without Type 2 Diabetes and Identifying the Relation to Hormone and Glucose Fluctuations, and Cognition
    • AimTo investigate and characterizer the hormonal chronobiological difference between individuals with Type 2 Diabetes and healthy matched controls. ​
  • Research project: Restricted Eating Time in the Treatment of Type 2 Diabetes - substudy
    • ​Aim: To investigate the effects of a 3-month time restricted eating intervention on changes in brain insulin sensitivity and dim light melatonin onset.
