Young people with type 1 diabetes: Psychosocial aspects of living with type 1 diabetes during adolescence and emerging adulthood.

Identity research: Research on identity formation and the underlying social mechanisms of identity development in adolescents and emerging adults with type 1 diabetes.

Intervention research:
Development of interventions designed to promote diabetes self-management in adolescents and emerging adults with type 1 diabetes. 

Design-based research:
Co-creation processes in developing interventions, methods and supportive tools for young people with type 1 diabetes.

Current research

PhD project: Illness identity and social relations in adolescents and emerging adults with type 1 diabetes.

Aim: To develop a framework for an intervention designed to promote self-management behaviours in young people with type 1 diabetes.

Collaborator: National Institute of Public Health at The University of Southern Denmark.
