Research area

  • Analyzing device behavior as predictors for optimal glucose control in type 1 and type 2 diabetes, children, and adults.
  • Evaluating the impact of automated insulin pumps (AID) including vulnerable groups.
  • Assessing additional benefits of AID beyond the glycemic control (sleep, inflammation, cognition).
  • Evaluating and preventing skin issues related to technology use.
  • Studying sleep in children and adults with type 1 diabetes.
  • Evaluating efficacy of technology (CGM and AID) in type 2 diabetes.

Current research

RenalAID

The overall aim is to advance knowledge regarding the efficacy, safety, and acceptance of the AID system in people with type 1 or type 2 diabetes with advanced renal disease managed with insulin therapy, by conducting a randomized crossover study comparing AID therapy with usual care.

AIDBeyond

The study evaluates the effects of AID systems on sleep efficiency and quality, cognitive function, mental health and CV risk factors in children and adults with T1D.
