Feasibility of Optimal Non-Pharmacological Lifestyle Modifications in People with Type 2 Diabetes – ON LiMiT pilot study

Purpose: The overall purpose of the ON LiMiT pilot study is to investigate the feasibility of a 12-month structured diet and exercise programme, supplemented by individually tailored support. The elements of the intervention will be observed, and qualitative interviews and clinical and behavioural measurements will be used to evaluate recruitment, implementation, adherence and the need for support. These results will be used to optimise the design and implementation of the intervention prior to a subsequent two-year, nationally anchored, randomised controlled study.

The ON LiMiT project is a collaboration between researchers from Steno Diabetes Centre Aarhus, Aarhus University, Steno Diabetes Centre Copenhagen, Steno Diabetes, Centre Odense, Bispebjerg Hospital, the Department of Nutrition, Exercise and Metabolism, and the Novo Nordisk Foundation Centre for Basic Metabolic Research at the University of Copenhagen.
