Current research

TOP12 (acronym)

Twelve-year follow-up on the Treatment of Obese Pregnant Women (TOP) study (TOP12).

Aim:

The project is a follow-up study to the TOP study that took place at Hvidovre Hospital in 2009-2012. The purpose of the follow-up study is to investigate whether lifestyle intervention during pregnancy among obese pregnant women has health effects for both mother and child 12 years after the intervention. The study design also allows long term assessment of the potential health effects of breastfeeding for both mother and child.

Collaborators:

The study is a collaboration between Rigshospitalet/PI Kristina Renault, SDCC and the Statens serum institut (SSI). In addition, the follow-up study collaborates with a similar follow-up study called LiPO Teen performed in Odense and Aarhus. The two studies collaborate by streamlining the clinical examinations and making shared data sets with enhanced statistical power and scientific relevance.
