Research area

Technologies in the treatment of type 1 diabetes

Optimizing treatment by using insulin pumps, continuous glucose monitors and bolus calculators in type 1 diabetes.

Development of new algorithms/technologies

Development and test of a dual-hormone closed-loop and open-loop systems for people with type 1 diabetes.

Development of guidelines for everyday use of technology in diabetes treatment

How should persons with diabetes bolus insulin and handle glucose values when eating different types of food, using new faster insulins and exercising in new ways.

Current research

StenoTech Study

Aim: To uncover barriers for successful treatment with insulin pumps (+/- CGM) in type 1 diabetes and develop novel personalized intervention tools that addresses these barriers. In a randomized study the newly developed approach will be studied.
Collaborators: Nordsjællands Hospital Hillerød, the SDCC Clinic, the SDCC Health Promotion Center, University of Copenhagen, University of Southern Denmark.
