Research area

  • Examining different dietary approaches to maximize the benefits of diabetes technologies.

  • Evaluating the impact of automated insulin pumps (AID) including vulnerable groups.

  • Assessing additional benefits of AID beyond the glycemic control (sleep, inflammation, cognition).

  • Developing and evaluating the effect of diabetes self-management education, new learning strategies and support and the use of diabetes technologies.

Current research

RenalAID

The overall aim is to advance knowledge regarding the efficacy, safety, and acceptance of the AID system in people with type 1 or type 2 diabetes with advanced renal disease managed with insulin therapy, by conducting a randomized crossover study comparing AID therapy with usual care.​ 

AIDBey​ond

The study evaluates the effects of AID systems on sleep efficiency and quality, cognitive function, mental health and CV risk factors in children and adults with T1D.
