Konni is a physician and clinical assistant currently focused on Type 2 diabetes and its effects on metabolic and cognitive health at SDNU. She is involved in several innovative projects aimed at enhancing our understanding of the relationships between circadian rhythms, insulin resistance, and brain function. Previously, as a medical student at the Copenhagen Neuromuscular Center, she contributed to projects assessing muscle involvement in various myopathies, including quantitative magnetic resonance imaging and analysis in patients with anoctamin 5 deficiency and Bethlem myopathy.
Konni has a keen interest in endocrinology, supported by practical experience at the Medical Department of Herlev Hospital and the outpatient clinic at the Steno Diabetes Center Copenhagen. These opportunities have deepened her understanding of hormone-related conditions and diabetes care.

Current projects
Konni is working as a clinical assistant on the following three projects:
- Cir-D-Brain: Determining Circadian Metabolic and Behavioural Rhythms in Patients with and without Type 2 Diabetes and Identifying the Relation to Hormone and Glucose Fluctuations, and Cognition
- The Brain Care Study: Cognitive screening of individuals diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and the impact of a multidomain intervention targeting cognitive decline.
- The interplay between circadian misalignment, sleep disturbances, and brain function in individuals with different degrees of insulin resistance – a systematic review
