Diabetes-related metabolic dysfunctio​n and complications

Clinical and translational studies investigating metabolic regulation, inflammatory processes, and diabetes-related complications, including peripheral and autonomic neuropathy and cardiometabolic dysfunction, using multi-omics and physiological challenge models.​

Exercise, fitness, and cardiometabolic health

Clinical studies examining metabolic and hormonal responses to physical exercise and physiological stress, integrating graded exercise testing, metabolomics, catecholamines, and wearable sensor data.

Th​e ODiNE Project

Cross-sectional study investigating metabolic and molecular biomarkers of diabetic neuropathy using targeted and untargeted metabolomics and proteomics in individuals with type 1 diabetes.

The GXT S​tudy

Exercise challenge study examining acute metabolic and catecholamine responses to graded exercise testing using targeted and untargeted metabolomics.

The ADDITION Proje​ct

Cohort study assessing proteomics-based biomarkers of cardiometabolic dysfunction and cardiovascular disease outcomes in individuals with type 2 diabetes.

The SyntaciqPro​ject

Industry collaboration investigating sex-specific interactions between physical exercise and glucose outcomes in females with type 1 diabetes across different phases of the menstrual cycle, using app-based wearable sensors and continuous glucose monitoring data

The CAN Project

Cross-sectional study including healthy individuals and people with type 2 diabetes with cardiovascular autonomic neuropathy, aiming to characterize differences in circulating cytokine profiles associated with CAN status.​
