Medication and complication patterns in the elderly population with T2DM.
Current research
The overall aim of this project is to describe medication and complication patterns in the elderly population with T2DM in the last stages of life and to develop a prediction model to guide treatment decisions.
This will be addressed in the following specific aims:
- Describe the discontinuation patterns of glucose-lowering medication. (Study 1)
- Describe the discontinuation patterns of antihypertensive, lipid-lowering and antithrombotic medications. (Study 2)
- Describe the diabetes related complication patterns before death. (Study 3)
- Develop a prediction model for 1-year mortality in elderly T2DM patients. (study 4).
