Departments

The aim of Clinical and Translational Research is to apply knowledge and findings from research in the clinic to improve outcomes for patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes.

Steno treats people with type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes as well as more rare types of diabetes. The treatment therefore ranges from young people with newly discovered type 1 diabetes, pregnant women with diabetes, rare hereditary forms of diabetes to the elderly person with complicated type 2 diabetes and multi-disease.

​The main focus of The Education Department is to disseminate the clinical competencies, front-line research results, and patient focused treatment and care practices that are present at Steno Diabetes Center Copenhagen.

Department of Prevention, Health Promotion and Community Care​ is a humanistic research and development unit focusing on Diabetes Management and Diabetes Prevention. 

On 1 October 2023, the laboratory became an integral part of the department for Diabetes Care.
