This study investigates the feasibility and maintenance of a time-restricted eating intervention in daily life of individuals with overweight at high risk of developing type 2 diabetes.

​Fewer ethnic minorities from non-Western countries attend and complete diabetes education compared with the general population. This project investigates the relationship between access to diabetes education and social relations.

​​The ability to work is related to different health related outcomes and is an important aspect of quality of life. 

​The “COVID-19 & Diabetes” project brings together qualitative and quantitative research disciplines in an effort to explore the psychosocial health of people with diabetes during the COVID-19 pandemic. So far, the project has produced several scientific articles with more to come and contributed to increased awareness on a national and international level about the thoughts, behavior changes and worries experienced by people with diabetes.

​​The study is based on a design-thinking approach putting the target group (people with mental illness) at the centre of problem solving and development.

​​This project strives to identify factors that affect the working life of people with diabetes as a starting point developing interventions that can improve the experience of being at work and strengthening the employment relationship among people with diabetes.

​The project aims to assess the biopsychosocial support and treatment needs in people with diabetes and disordered eating in order to develop and test methods to address the identified needs. The project is funded by the Danish Diabetes Association.

​This study develops tools for the measurement of food literacy and exploration of influential mechanisms for developing food literacy among sixth and seventh grade schoolchildren. The developed tools are subsequently applied to evaluate Arla Fonden’s “FOODcamp”.

​The purpose of NEED was to develop and evaluate methods for facilitating active participation and dialogue in group based patient education. As part of the project two health education models (The Balancing Person and The Health Education Juggler) and 24 dialogue tools have been developed.

​Online peer communities for persons with type 1 diabetes are increasing in Denmark as well as worldwide, and open up a virtual space through which exchange of experience, social support and connections among peers are made possible. This is especially the case with the social media platform Facebook, which is used by 73% of the Danish population.

​​Family members have important roles in everyday management of diabetes. Problems and challenges are not restricted to the person with diabetes and often affect the whole family.
