​This study will develop, test and validate a multidimensional Food Literacy index for school children grade 6-7. The resulting instrument will be useful for assessing food literacy levels and guide food education activities.

​ASPHALT is a research project and an intervention developed in collaboration between the non-profit organisation GAME and Health Promotion Research at Steno Diabetes Center Copenhagen.

We develop a core outcome set (COS) for behaviour change interventions to prevent diabetes after pregnancies (DAP) affected by gestational diabetes. The COS is expected to enhance opportunities for comparison of future studies.

​​This project focuses on family-based obesity interventions for children and adolescents. The aim is to produce knowledge and to develop new methods (for creating family involvement) that involve the whole family in positive and constructive ways and reduce detrimental communication.

Fælles om Ungelivet’ is a health promotion program that intends to create a good and inspiring adolescence, where alcohol, tobacco and drugs do not play a significant role. The program is currently in a pilot and development phase in five Danish municipalities, and Health Promotion Reseach is responsible for a formative evaluation which will form the basis for the development of a comprehensive model that can be extended to the rest of Denmark’s municipalities. 

​This EU project aims at preventing overweight among children and young people consolidating, providing access to and scaling up best practices from previous European school and community health promotion interventions.

​This project investigates how vocational schools work with health promotion and aims to determine effective and feasible ways to promote better health among vocational school students.

​Project SoL is a series of interrelated initiatives that are all based on the supersetting approach to mobilise local communities for public health and social action.

​Healthy vocational schools aim to develop and implement a sustainable health promotion model that promotes health and wellbeing among vocational education students. The overall vision is to prevent lifestyle diseases later in life. Currently, we are developing and testing the feasibility of the model at nine vocational schools across two regions in Denmark.

The life-course perspective points to the pre-conception period as a window of opportunity for proactive, long-term health promotion. The Malaysian Jom Mama project was one of the first to address young couples prior to first pregnancy in order to increase healthy living, driven by a private-public partnership.

​​​Using cross-cultural encounters as a means of health promotion among primary school students – the Move Eat Learn (MEL) project.

​What is the benefit of education outside the classroom (EOtC) for pupils’ movement behaviour, academic motivation, and well-being? The cluster RCT study MOVEOUT investigates the effects of regular practiced EOtC on pupils’ health and learning. The results will impact an expected future scale-up of EOtC.

​​This project investigates the development and implementation of health promotion activities in deprived neighbourhoods. In these areas, the residents are at increased risk of developing diabetes and other Non-Communicable Diseases (NSD’s) as inappropriate health behaviour is concentrated among socially disadvantaged groups.

The PULSE project was a research-based, action-oriented exhibition-development project that took place at a science centre in Copenhagen called Experimentarium.

​​Smoke-free Vocational Schools is a research- and intervention project which aims to implement ‘smoke-free school hours’ in nine Danish vocational education and training (VET) schools  and create new knowledge on effective tobacco control interventions.
